Effets de la Privatisation sur la Productivité des Entreprises Publiques au Cameroun.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the effects of privatization on the productivity of public enterprises in Cameroon. Statistical tests and the econometric model SUR (Seemingly Unrelated Regression) are used. The results show a mixed impact of privatization on firm productivity. In terms of static or level effects of privatization, the comparison of the productivity indices of the years -3, 0 and +3 of privatization revealed an improvement in these indices over time and in terms of average and median. However, this improvement is significant and only 10% in the confrontation of the extreme years -3 and +3. In terms of dynamic effects, although the impact of privatization is positive for 7 out of 9 companies, only 4 out of 9 companies witnessed a positive and significant effect of privatization on productivity.
