Effects of trade openness on economic growth in the countries of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CAEMC): Implications of export diversification
Fernand Owonda

Abstract
This paper analyzes the impact of trade openness on economic growth taking into account the diversification of exports in the CAEMC countries over the periodfrom2000 to 2018.The result obtained from this study through the fixed-effect model shows that trade openness has a negative impact on the economic growth in the CAEMC countries. However, this result is positive and significant when the trade openness is accompanied by the exports diversification. These results enable us to formulate the policy implications.
